'Emergency' meeting tackles 'crisis' in Indigenous child welfare

Indigenous Services Minister Jane Philpott laid out a six-point plan to reform Canada’s child and welfare services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis families at an “emergency meeting” on the issue held in Ottawa Thursday. 
Philpott promised that money for the reforms would be in the next federal budget, but did not say how much the government would spend to fix a problem she has labelled a “humanitarian crisis.”
