Editorial: IN SNC-Lavalin affair, Michael Wernick had to go

The Prime Minister’s Office says it did not ask Michael Wernick to resign as Clerk of the Privy Council, that he made this decision himself. Well, at least someone understood what needed doing. It was just a matter of when.
Wernick, who joined the public service in 1981, and served as deputy minister at Aboriginal Affairs for years before being named Clerk, appeared twice at the House of Commons Justice Committee probing the Jody Wilson-Raybould/SNC-Lavalin affair. Both times, he undermine
