Driver escapes serious injury after pickup smashes through hydro pole

A driver escaped serious injury Saturday morning when the pickup he was driving went out of control and smashed through a hydro pole on Dwyer Hill Road near Fallowfield Road.
The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m.
First responders arrived to find the driver dazed but conscious and he was taken into custody by paramedics.
His injuries were later described as minor.
Hydro Ottawa was called to the scene for repairs to the pole and power lines.
