Don’t do it – nations warn Kurds about independence vote

The Kurds are moving forward with their plan to hold a referendum vote on independence from Iraq but various nations are starting to issue warnings about the consequences of such an action.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his cabinet will meet Friday to decide whether to impose sanctions on the Kurds if they separate from Iraq.
“Steps such as demands for independence that can cause new crises and conflicts in the region must be avoided,” Erdogan told the UN on Tuesday.
