Daycare operator charged in historic assault cases

A 30-year-old Ottawa woman has been charged with serious assault charges in connection with alleged assaults on two young children at her home daycare operation in mid-2012.
Police said they received the complaints at the end of 2018.
The alleged victims were under the age of 10.
They have charged Luzia Arruda with two counts of aggravated assault, one count each of assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon, as well as six charges of simple assault.
