Cumberland-Masson-Angers ferry reopens after ice-forced closure

In what operator Traversier Bourbonnais called a “very rare” event, the ferry between Cumberland, Ont., and Masson-Angers, Que., temporarily closed Sunday due to ice on the Ottawa River.
Usually operating around-the-clock and year-round, the service closed at about 8 a.m. Sunday.
By 4 p.m., it had reopened.
The ferry shut down for several days in February 2008 due to ice conditions but never this early in the winter season.
