Councillor wins support for looking into licensing home-based businesses

The bylaw department should look into licensing home-based businesses as part of a sweeping municipal regulations review, a committee decided on Thursday.
Knoxdale-Merivale Coun. Keith Egli won support for his surprise motion at a community and protective services meeting.
Egli rebuffed a suggestion that he only wants to wrap home-based businesses in red tape.
“Not at all,” Egli said after the meeting. “The majority of home-based businesses in the city operate legitimately, wel
