Council briefs: Hydro bosses skeptical about Ford rate cut, Ottawa Markets eyes revitalization

Hydro Ottawa’s top bosses aren’t sure how premier-designate Doug Ford will cut electricity rates as the Progressive Conservative leader promised during the provincial election campaign.
Ford promised to cut hydro bills by 12 per cent.
“I suspect there is no magic bullet,” Hydro Ottawa CEO Bryce Conrad told city council Wednesday while helping to deliver the utility’s annual report. “I’m not completely aware how he’ll get to 12 per cent.”
