Contractors raise fire alarm in tornado-damaged home

Contractors working on the outside of a tornado-damaged Craig Henry home raised the alarm Tuesday afternoon when a fire broke out in the kitchen.
The fire department got the 911 call reporting black smoke inside an Elvaston Avenue duplex at 1:39 p.m.
Dispatchers asked the contractors to check that no one was inside by circling the home, which was damaged when tornadoes swept the area in September. They didn’t see flames or occupants, but firefighters confirmed smoke was visible from the fr
