Cold weather shakes things up near Kingston
People living in portions of South Frontenac Township heard a loud bang and felt the ground shake on Monday just after 2:30 p.m.
But it wasn’t an earthquake and was nothing to be concerned about, said Alex Braun, a professor with the department of geological sciences and geological engineering at Queen’s University.
It was a frost quake, he said.
“You need a couple of ingredients to create a frost quake,” Braun said in an interview on Wednesday.
