Charity opens new Ottawa home for human-trafficking survivors

On the wall of a cozy room in the basement of a unique new transition home for women fleeing the cruel grip of human traffickers is a handmade sign that reads “Behind every successful woman is herself.”
It’s the kind of message the young women who pass through this place of refuge will need to hear as they rebuild their lives after the trauma of being forced to work in the sex trade.
