Champions manager Lanier has all-star history
As good as Hal Lanier was with the leather in the infield, the closest the Ottawa Champions manager came to being a Major League all-star was being named to the 1964 Topps All-Star Rookie team after hitting what would become a career-high .274.
That’s life for career .228 hitters, no matter how good one is with the glove.
