Cat recovering after Rideau River rescue; donations sought

A stray cat now has the moniker “River” after being found “clinging to life” on the middle of the Rideau River.
The year-old animal had wounds to his face, tail and paws when he was rescued by city firefighters, the Ottawa Humane Society said Thursday.
About one-third of his tail had to be amputated due to frostbite.
