Canadian holiday spending inches upward, according to Moneris

Consumers lightly stretched their wallets during the Christmas season, according to a Canadian payment processing firm.
Moneris, one of the largest payment processing companies in North America, tracked spending at more than 350,000 merchants across Canada throughout the busy holiday shopping season.
According to the company, Canadians spent on average around 4.26 per cent more in the final three months of 2017 than they did during the same time period one year earlier. The company said the slig
