This month, Canadians will mark 100 years since the end of the First World War – a grim anniversary not just because of the lives lost, but because of lessons that went unlearned before we fell into the Second World War. But many forget that this year is also the centenary of an event that killed more people than both world wars combined: the 1918 Influenza pandemic. One hundred years on from one of the deadliest disease outbreaks in history, we should ask: Will it happen again?
