Beetles and bat flips: Ottawa entomologist names discovery after Jose Bautista

Inspired by ex-Blue Jay Jose Bautista’s famous bat flip, an Ottawa entomologist has immortalized the slugger with his own beetle.
Sicoderus bautistai, a “tiny, shiny” black insect with a dangerous looking proboscis joins more than 60,000 other known species of weevils thanks to Canadian Museum of Nature entomologist and baseball fan Dr. Bob Anderson.
