Antiques: Mermaid Continues to Draw Attention

Q I bought this mermaid figure at an antique store and was told it was used in an amusement park display at Crystal Beach, Ont. (now part of Fort Erie). It stands about 183 cm tall (72 inches) and looks to be painted on pine and hand-carved in an art deco style with an aboriginal style headdress. The paint is becoming more and more delicate. I would like to know if what I have is a true treasure (which I do love anyway) or an item I overpaid for. I’m very grateful for your insight.
