Algonquin College buildings evacuated as crews tackle fire

Algonquin College was evacuated Thursday morning as fire crews tackled a blaze at an on-campus construction site.
Fire alarms sounded in buildings A, B and C and the college told students to leave three buildings at the Woodroffe Avenue campus.
The fire in a construction area didn’t spread to surrounding buildings and was quickly under control, the fire department reported.
The college tweeted the all-clear for students to return to class.
