Adam: A glimpse at African retail politics, Ghana-style

HUNI VALLEY, Ghana – It’s mid-afternoon on a blazing Friday and we are hurtling down a dirt road in a two-vehicle convoy headed for this small town in the mineral-rich western region of Ghana.  The town lies some 300 kilometres from the capital, Accra, but we take winding back roads to save time. It is part of a sprawling constituency (riding) called Prestea-Huni Valley, and I am here at the invitation of the local MP, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, to see retail politics – Ghana-st
