A mixed-bag winter storm on its way; canal skateway closed

A winter storm with high winds, freezing rain and then whiteout conditions is on its way for Sunday.
Environment Canada issued two weather statements warning about what is coming. On Saturday night, sometime after midnight, precipitation in some form — freezing rain, ice-pellets, rain or snow — could begin. By the time it is over Monday, as much as 10 cm could be on the ground, or blown around, according to special weather statements.
