Prolonged heat warning for region

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Prolonged Heat Warning for Durham Region. The heat is expected to last through the rest of the week. With a declared heat event in effect, the City of Oshawa is offering the use of cooling centres to stay cool. They will operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the South Oshawa Community Centre, 1455 Cedar St., and the Arts Resource Centre, 45 Centre St., until Sunday, July 12.
