Nolan Machan was my ‘guilty pleasure’

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved publishing. As a small boy, I would make comics and write stories and then sell copies to my friends. By the time I was 13, I had a paid column in a local newspaper (I was living in Sudan, Africa at the time, and my pitch letter was well received by the Editor who liked the idea of a young boy in a ‘fish out of water’ scenario.)
