Wrongfully convicted man seeks to keep $5.1 million

Ivan Henry wants to keep the full $13 million he has been awarded following his wrongful conviction and 27-year imprisonment, rather than the roughly $8 million granted by the B.C. Supreme Court in 2016.
The provincial government, however, told the B.C. Court of Appeal on Monday that such a decision would violate the long-standing rule covering tort damages and give Henry “a windfall.”
