Wireless executive pitches B.C. Tech summit imagining technology to make 5G meaningful

The beauty of next-generation 5G wireless communications is that it will deliver data speeds capable of carrying the equivalent of 4K video over the cell-phone network.
That is only going to be meaningful, said wireless executive Jorge Fernandes, if tech companies bring their bright ideas capable of using those speeds to the market when his company Rogers Communications, along with Telus Corp. and Bell Canada are ready to roll it out by about 2020.
