VPD investigating after pedestrian dies in Downtown Eastside bus collision

A 63-year-old man is dead after a bus crash in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on Friday evening.
The incident occurred just before 5:30 p.m., as the bus pulled away from its stop at Hastings and Abbott, heading east towards Carrall Street.
Moments later, the bus struck the man, who has not been identified. He died at the scene.
Police said speed does not appear to be a factor in the fatal crash, but an investigation is ongoing. Traffic has been diverted on Hastings between Abbott and C
