Vaughn Palmer: NDP makes impressive start managing B.C.'s finances

VICTORIA — Finance Minister Carole James started a lengthy media briefing on the state of provincial finances Tuesday with an explanation for the one-month lag in the release of the public accounts.
“Normally I would have been standing here in July,” James acknowledged. “But our ministry needed the extra time to work with the office of the auditor general because of some of the challenges with B.C. Hydro’s deferral accounts.”
