Vaughn Palmer: Dix plans to promote measles immunization, not needle those against it

VICTORIA — Health Minister Adrian Dix took the high road this week in launching a measles immunization drive, avoiding the twin off-ramps of blame-placing and threats.
Dix announced $3 million in additional funding for the measles vaccine and a campaign to encourage immunization through the schools, health authorities and news media.
The goal being to reverse a decline in the benchmark vaccination rate for children, which has slumped in recent years from the 90 per cent range to just above
