Vancouver firefighters tackle suspected propane-tank explosions at scrap-yard blaze

Firefighters were called to a scrap-yard blaze on the 1900-block of Triumph Street in Vancouver late Monday night.
A worker at Parallel 49 Brewing Company, on the same block as the blaze, said that he heard at least eight explosions that he believed were caused by propane tanks.
Clayton, who did not want to give his last name, said the fire broke out at about 10 p.m.
“I heard like eight to ten explosions. We were open at the time but weren’t required to evacuate,” he said.
