Two rescued as apartment fire forces out 33 people in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Two people needed to be rescued from the upper floor of an apartment building in Kamloops as flames raced through one room of the converted hotel.
Kamloops Fire Rescue Capt. Darryl Cooper says the blaze was reported early Wednesday and crews had to use a ladder truck to rescue the people.
Staff of the apartment were already working to evacuate 33 people from the building as firefighters arrived.
