Transparency watchdogs call for B.C. legislature reform

VICTORIA — The scandal-plagued B.C. legislature will soon be subject to the province’s freedom of information laws, as the fallout continues from a massive spending scandal inside the capital building.
The government has agreed to change the law to force the legislative assembly to publicly disclose details about its budget, spending, expenses, staffing, security and other functions, said NDP house leader Mike Farnworth.
