TransLink Mayors' Council votes to suspend Surrey light rail, start SkyTrain planning

Members of TransLink’s Mayors’ Council have voted to suspend indefinitely work on a light-rail line in Surrey and begin planning for a SkyTrain line along Fraser Highway.
The council, which is made up of 21 mayors from Metro Vancouver municipalities, the director of Electoral Area A and the chief of Tsawwassen First Nation, met on Thursday for the first time since last month’s municipal election.
