TransLink gets green light to charge new development fee
The province has introduced legislation to give TransLink the authority to levy a development-cost charge on new construction in Metro Vancouver.
The development-cost charges (DCCs) are one-time fees that apply to new developments with the money going to fund major transit projects outlined in the Mayors’ Council 10-Year Vision, including the Broadway subway and light-rail transit for Surrey.
The charge will increase a new residential unit by $1,500 to $2,850 depending on the type of dwell
