TransLink adds compressed natural gas buses to Surrey fleet

The first of more than 100 new natural-gas-powered buses will hit the streets of Surrey this week.
The rollout means that by the end of the year, more than half of the city’s 209 buses will be new, running on clean energy and equipped with safety measures to protect drivers.
“This is a significant upgrade to the buses operating in Surrey and for the Surrey residents who rely on our transit system,” said Dan Savitsky, vice-president of maintenance for Coast Mountain Bus Company.
