Town Talk: Book and gala greet South Asians' second century
SECOND CENTURY: 100 local South Asian families were commemorated in publisher Rana Vig’s 100 Year Journey. It was released a century after 376 British subjects aboard the vessel Komagata Maru were denied entry to Canada in 1914. The book spurred an annual gala that funds copies for free distribution to B.C. schools, libraries and even Canadian senators who formally accepted it in 2017.
