Surrey Coun. Bruce Hayne to run for mayor

Two-term city Coun. Bruce Hayne is the latest person to enter the race for the mayor’s seat in Surrey.
Last month Hayne, a Cloverdale resident and past president of the Surrey Board of Trade, announced that he was leaving the Surrey First party because of he was unhappy with how the city engaged the public on issues such as crime, housing and transit.
Hayne now sits as an independent councillor. Surrey First candidates won all of the seats on council and school board in the last election.
