Ship involved in Vancouver crane collapse set to leave port

A vessel that struck and felled a ship-to-shore crane boom at the Port of Vancouver late last month is finally freed and expected to leave port on Thursday.
On Jan. 28, at 4 a.m., the vessel Ever Summit was docking at the Global Container Terminal at 1300 Stewart Street when it made contact with the crane. The crane boom then collapsed on to a stack of containers at the back of the ship. There were no injuries and no other operations outside that terminal were impacted.
