Search underway after man swept into Squamish River

Police and rescuers are searching for a man who was swept into the Squamish River early Sunday morning.
According to Squamish RCMP, a woman called around 1 a.m. Sunday to report her friend had fallen into the river.
The pair had been camping with friends up the Ashlu Forest Service Road, north of Squamish.
Despite the efforts of several people, he couldn’t be found in the darkness. Other witnesses said the river was running fast and he was swept up by the current.
