Reminder: B.C. conducting emergency alert test today

Don’t be alarmed if your mobile phone starts making a loud beeping noise this afternoon.
B.C. is conducting the second round of the emergency alert to wireless devices at 1:55 p.m.
The test is part of the national Alert Ready system to improve public safety in the event of emergency. The system allows for broadcasts of emergency information about natural disasters and major emergencies through radio and television broadcasts, social media feeds and text messages to smartphones.
