RCMP credit 'Const. Scarecrow' for slowing speeders in Coquitlam

A life-size cut-out of a radar-gun-toting Mountie is being credited for slowing down lead-footed drivers in Coquitlam.
Coquitlam RCMP say the bright-yellow-clad figure, dubbed “Const. Scarecrow,” has been a more effective deterrent than they anticipated since it was first deployed Sept. 18 for a two-month pilot project on local roads.
