Pedestrian dies in East Vancouver collision

A woman in her 70s is dead after being struck by a truck in East Vancouver early Tuesday.
Vancouver police say it’s the second pedestrian fatality of 2019.
At around 10:15 a.m. the woman was crossing East Hastings Street at Commercial Drive when she was struck by a red pickup.
Investigators say the truck was travelling south on Commercial and collided with the pedestrian as the driver turned east onto Hastings.
The driver of the truck, a 50-year-old man from Vancouver, remained at the scen
