Opinion: Trust me. Journalists deserve our support

The most recent round of newsroom cuts at a national broadcaster come at a time when journalists, long known as defenders of democracy and diversity of opinion, are needed more than ever to help people navigate a world increasingly fragmented by misinformation. As the lines between truth and fiction continue to blur, we need journalists to moderate debates, introduce diverse voices into the conversation, and facilitate greater understanding.
