One man dead after overnight Surrey shooting

An early-morning shooting in Surrey has left one person dead.
Around 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Surrey RCMP received a report of a person who was on the ground outside of a home in the in the 14200-block 70A Avenue, in Newton.
Police found a 22-year-old man dead. He had been shot.
Police have cordoned off the area and expect to be there “for a significant amount of time,” according to a Surrey RCMP news release.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team took over the case.
