One dead, Highway 1 closed near Chilliwack after head-on crash

The Trans-Canada Highway was closed well into Saturday evening east of Chilliwack after a fatal two-vehicle crash earlier in the day.
Lower Mainland District RCMP said they believe an eastbound vehicle crossed into the westbound lane, killing the passenger in the westbound vehicle.
Insp. Vishal Mathura said both drivers were taken by air ambulance to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
