One dead after truck collides with train in Delta

One man is dead following a “serious collision” Saturday afternoon in Delta between a dump truck and a train.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m., Delta police said, in the 4600-block of 72nd Street near the intersection with Ladner Trunk Road.
The driver of the dump truck, operated by Smithrite Disposal, was trapped in the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no injuries to the crew of the train, which belongs to CN Rail.
