One dead after train hits pedestrians at Chilliwack rail crossing

One person is dead after a train collided with pedestrians in Chilliwack Saturday.
Chilliwack RCMP were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. when a westbound train hit two people in the 9000-block of Broadway Street.
When officers arrived they found one person dead and a second who was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said RCMP Cpl. Mike Rail in a release.
The area around the Broadway rail crossing was expected to be cordoned off “for a significant period of time,
