New funding for B.C. search and rescue groups

The B.C. government has announced $18.6 million in one-time funding for ground search and rescue groups over three years.
Mike Farnworth, the province’s minister of public safety and solicitor general, made the announcement Saturday in Coquitlam.
He says the funding will help the B.C. Search and Rescue Association and the province’s 80 search and rescue groups bolster training, provide administrative support and renew equipment.
