NDP housing plan double-counts thousands of Liberal units

VICTORIA — The NDP government’s ambitious plan to build a record amount of affordable housing will actually double-count almost 5,000 housing units that were funded under the previous Liberal administration.
The new government promised the “largest investment in affordable housing in B.C.’s history” in last week’s provincial budget, with $6.2 billion allocated over 10 years to build 33,700 new units of affordable rental, student and supportive housing.
