Nanaimo RCMP say fatal shooting appears to be targeted

Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a fatal shooting at the Hawthorne Corner housing complex this morning.
A man was found dead at 10:50 a.m. in the parking lot of the complex, located at Wakesiah Avenue and Second Street.
Const. Gary O’Brien said the identity of the victim will not be made public until his next of kin are notified. The man is known to police and the shooting appears to be targeted, O’Brien said.
