Multi-car crash forces partial closure of Highway 1 near Abbotsford

A multi-car accident on Highway 1, near Whatcom Road, has forced the closure of the westbound lanes. There are several ambulances at the scene and no word on when the lanes are expected to reopen. An alternative route has been set up.
Earlier, the Abbotsford Police Department recommended staying off Highway 1, due to snow buildup in some parts of that city.
There is a snowfall warning in effect in Abbotsford, with up to 15 cm of snow forecast.
