More than 3,000 advanced votes cast in Nanaimo byelection

More than 3,000 people cast ballots during the first two days of advanced voting for the provincial byelection in Nanaimo.
Election B.C. says 1,532 people voted  on Tuesday and further 1,655 voted on Wednesday at two advanced polling stations.
The byelection, which was called for Jan. 30, is being held to fill the vacant seat left by NDP MLA Leonard Krog, who stepped down after winning the city’s mayoral race in October.
